TERMS OF SERVICE
Here at Alpal's Dog Pals we offer a professional, caring, and confidence-building experience for your dog/s. We will always aim to give your dog the care they truly need, whether that be a gentle stroll in nature or a high energy game of tug!
1. Alpal's Dog Pals provides professional care services catered to your dog's individual personality and needs. We use positive reinforcement to build a trusting relationship with your dog, meaning a kind, ethical and reward-based approach to build lasting positive associations. We will not use any harsh, unfair or physical corrections/ techniques with your dog, and will not use equipment such as prong collar, e-collar, choke/ check chain, head halti, figure of 8 etc. whilst walking your dog. If your dog has an issue with lead pulling, we will be happy to discuss some potential training to help with lead walking.
2. As a studying PACT Student, I am able to assist with any training your dog may need on their walks such as loose lead walking, recall, polite greetings etc. However this is limited to behavioural cases e.g reactivity, resource guarding, aggression, in which instance I may refer you to a qualified Canine Behavioural Technician who will be able to best guide you and your dog on the path to success!
3. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of your pet and others, all dogs must:
- Have a meet and greet prior to any agreed services – this will include a detailed history of your dog, as well as a walk to give me an idea of their behaviour outside of the home. (THIS IS MANDATORY)
- Be up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.
- Be microchipped and have an ID tag with correct and up to date information (this is a legal requirement.)
- Be comfortable being handled and walked by a professional
- Have any behavioural concerns or health issues raised ahead of time.
- Clients will be required to sign a waiver to allow their dog to be off-leash if this is desired.
- Dogs will be subject to assessment during the first couple of walks on a longline to ensure they’re a suitable candidate for off-leash exercise.
Special attention can be given to dogs working through reactivity or anxiety. (This will be considered on a case by case basis)
